That's a great question. The thing is, I don't see how we can even guess how people are going to feel about it. Opinions are scattered already. I know AI is not "new." But it's still new in the minds of many people, and they just don't know how to feel about it.
Ultimately, I'm sure it will turn out like all the other tech advances that have come about in the last century. Many of those were vilified at the outset, and now most people can't imagine their lives without them. I expect our humanoid companions will be the same way. Our grandchildren and great-grandchildren will find the fears of 2026 to be rather quaint.
